Our story

Rachel

Hello, I’m Rachel I’m married to my husband Neil, we live in a beautiful village near the mendips between Bristol Bath and Wells, we have two daughters Mia and Kacey, Mia is a veterinary surgeon. and Kacey who runs her own successful dog walking business.

As a child I surrounded myself with as many animals as possible, dogs, horses, cats, rabbits;  I loved them all! I spent my childhood and teen years off on adventures with our golden retriever Hannah, we went off exploring together or sometimes we just went down to the brooke to paddle in the water, I packed a picnic and off we would go.

My love for dogs grew and I have never been without one, to be honest I would be lost without one, I feel privileged to have such a bond with my dogs and enjoying sharing every moment with them.

I hold a higher diploma in canine behaviour and psychology, and currently finishing my last case study in advanced diploma in applied canine behaviour. like humans dogs are individual, we teach them to learn in a safe controlled happy environment. With the power of positivity, creating relationships with respect, knowledge and understanding of the dogs point of view. Good genetics, exceptional learning, and their environment creates the foundations of the puppies personalities, this in turn creates confidence and enhances the puppies emotions and behaviour going on with their new owner to create a unbreakable bond of trust and respect.
Our dogs and puppies mean the world to us, creating positive foundations allows our puppies to have tremendous relationships and years of fun and excitement ahead of them.

Neil

Our facebook page is a fabulous way to see our dogs and puppies day to day, past puppies and owners or watch current litters develop with regular videos and updates.

We decided to apply for a breeding license which is now required by law if breeding more than two litters. After weeks of paperwork and 3 hour inspection with the licensing team and a vet, we have been granted a four star higher welfare license. This is the highest standard which can be granted in the first year and is reviewed after two years. We support the legislation and law and see that licensing is really beneficial for welfare of puppies and bitches around the country. There are some horrific breeders and puppy farmers out there. It’s heartbreaking what some of these poor dogs go through. Lower welfare and higher welfare has a huge impact on the bitch. A lower welfare breeder can breed more litters with less requirements in living standards and care than a higher welfare breeder. To achieve a lower welfare license four panels and a pallet raised off the concrete floor is acceptable, more litters , more puppies; that’s not a life.it’s so sad. All our dogs are our pets and form a huge part of our family. They are not machines and remain with us, a bitch is never rehomed once she has had the maximum amount of litters permitted. Neil & I are proud to have achieved the higher welfare 4 star! Our dogs have an incredible fun filled, lovely life, filled with love and adventures. We give our puppies an amazing start in life which we hope gives new puppy parents whether an individual or family many years of happiness, we are proud to say we are always here for our puppies for their entire life. This is our way of life.
